BYOB Restaurants in Nashville
In my humble opinion, a BYOB restaurant experience can sometimes be the most fun. Why? Because it makes celebrating easy and affordable! (P.S. One of my rules of thumb is to always, always have a bottle of prosecco in the fridge – because you never know when you’ll need to pop a bottle! Plus, is there anything worse than not being able to make a Sunday mimosa at home?) BYOB restaurants give us the opportunity to bring a bottle of wine or champagne that is special to us and open in a setting that is unique.
I would be remiss to not mention my favorite BYOB establishment first – Dabble Studio of course! We love offering the opportunity to our guests to drink what they like or bring their own special bottles in to celebrate what is going on in their own lives at one of our classes. But when I’m not at Dabble, where do I BYOB, you ask? Well. Let me tell you!
Woodlands is an Indian restaurant with unique and amazing vegetarian options. I love all things flavorful, spicy and anywhere I can get unlimited naan in different flavors so it goes without saying that I LOVE their concept. My order? Chana Masala (chickpeas in this amazingly spicy tomato sauce) Palak Paneer (delicious cottage cheese cubes cooked with a cheesy spinach sauce) and the most naan you can imagine. I bring Stella’s to cool down the Masala and a bright Pinot Noir to cut the richness of the Paneer. BYOB win!
Also – this is the perfect place for a big group to eat family style!
2. DeSano’s Pizza
DeSano’s likes to say that their restaurant is the “cheapest place your mouth will ever take to Italy.” And this, my friends? Truth. DeSano’s serves up a wide variety of simple Italian classics, browned by a brick oven – this place is legit. It’s also super casual and fun, as they let you sit around their big tables fit for the largest Italian families and enjoy their home cooking with your own wine. It truly feels like a friend's kitchen. My order? The Verdura. Broccoli rabe, mushroom, cherry tomato, garlic and buffalo mozzarella. My special request? (A no-no in Italy to change anything!) Prosciutto on top! Bring your favorite Italian Red, your friends, and your appetite!
3. Mas Tacos
Mas Tacos is all my favorite things: Mexican food, unique flavors, delicious tacos, a trendy vibe, an outdoor patio and last but not least: a BYOB option. Living in Germantown, it’s easy for me to venture out to East Nashville, but this is one of those spots that is worth the trip no matter where you live. Their menu changes daily, but a few consistent items that are my fave? The Spicy Carne Molida, which hails of ground beef with habanero, corn, roasted tomatoes, tomatillo salsa, red cabbage, spicy lime marinated onions (extra please!), sour cream, cilantro and lime. PHEW! All on a taco! I also love the healthified Quinoa Sweet Potato Taco with roasted tomatillo salsa, red cabbage, sour cream, cilantro and lime. Go big and bring your own margarita!
